GREAT PERFORMANCES
Cotai Arena at the Venetian now offers a full line-up of events year-round, ranging from tennis and martial arts, to international bands and local pop stars, so it is worth checking what’s on offer during your stay. The in-house Cirque du Soleil show Zaia continues to be popular with groups, and performers can pose for photographs with delegates prior to the show upon request.

Across the road at City of Dreams, business event groups can pre-book complimentary tickets for The Bubble, a 25-minute show in a dome-shaped 4D theatre. This sensory adventure runs 25 times each day and can be chartered by groups of 250 or more. The integrated resort’s water-themed Dragone show will open mid-year in a purpose-built theatre seating 2,000 people.

DINING DESTINATIONS
Il Teatro at Wynn Macau is the venue’s best option for a post-event group meal. The main dining room can be reserved for cocktail parties and gala dinners. The restaurant overlooks the Performance Lake, which features a choreographed water, light and fire display. The theatre continues inside with open kitchens preparing home-style Italian food. Menus can be customised. For groups of less than 20 people, the balcony section has impressive views, and for groups of less than 10 people, the VIP rooms provide a private luxurious setting.

Grand Lisboa is the perfect backdrop for group pictures. Inside is a collection of equally impressive restaurants. French restaurant Robuchon a Galera at adjacent sister property, Hotel Lisboa, was again awarded three stars in the latest Michelin Guide.

Also recognised were Lei Garden at the Venetian and Wing Lei at Wynn.

Mistral at Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 serves international cuisine in a large, light-filled dining room that opens onto the pool terrace. Hold pre-dinner drinks for VIPs in a duplex of the hotel’s penthouse wing, The Mansion

Soon to open at L’Arc New World Macau are six themed duplexes also available for small, high-end events. Follow with dinner in a private room at L’Arc Chinese Restaurant.

LATE NIGHT
On the Cotai Strip, book the Venetian’s Bellini Lounge or Diplomat Lounge and your group can enjoy a private show in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, by house acts including a nine-piece pop ensemble, DJ or soloist.

Next door at Four Seasons, Bar Azul is a sophisticated venue with nightly entertainment for groups of up to 65 people.

In Central Macau, Lion’s Bar offers a daily live band performance while at the Veuve Clicquot Lounge at MGM Grand groups can relax and sip champagne in a glamorous setting. Alternatively, the catering team can tailor a private event at The Vista with a live band performance (minimum spend US$6,200).

SHOPPING FRENZY
The Grand Canal Shoppes boasts more than 300 stores along The Venetian’s canals and St. Mark’s Square. The stores offer a range of price points and are open until 11pm (midnight on weekends).

The adjacent Shoppes at Four Seasons offers 160 luxury and designer stores with the option of hiring a personal shopper until 9pm. Across the Cotai Strip at City of Dreams, delegates can shop for fashion and accessories on level one of The Boulevard, and watches and jewellery on level two. Open until 11.30pm each night and midnight on weekends.

One Central is a new three-storey mall connected to MGM Grand offering designer boutiques. Nearby Wynn also includes a smaller luxury arcade on its ground floor.

The city’s markets are scattered across all three islands, but most are in Central Macau, within walking distance of Unesco World Heritage site, the Ruins of St Paul’s.

RELAXATION TIME
Altira, Crown Towers, MGM Grand and Wynn all offer first-class spas that are open to groups. Most offer 10 to 15 treatment rooms and extensive communal facilities.

Six Senses Spa at MGM Grand includes steam rooms, a snow room, a sauna and a flotation pool. The pool areas at Four Seasons and Sofitel offer a resort ambiance. Malo Spa & Clinic, which opened at the Venetian last year, is the largest facility of its kind in Asia. For an energetic break, rooftop mini-golf is on offer, or take a circus class with the Zaia performers.
