The brief
Business of Design Week (BODW) is an annual conference dedicated to design, innovation and brands, organised by the Hong Kong Design Centre.
The week’s events include a series of exhibitions, forums, outreach programmes and networking opportunities for designers, business leaders, educators and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) to exchange ideas and address current issues.
Challenges
While the main conference was held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, BODW also included events at a number of off-site venues around Hong Kong such as an exhibition at Hong Kong Heritage Museum and a ten-day event programme called Detour, based at the former Victoria Police Barracks in the Soho district.
Execution
Highlights of the programme included the BODW Forum, the official welcome dinner in The Great Room at W Hotel and the Hong Kong Design Council’s Annual Awards Gala Dinner at HKCEC. There was also a one-day forum held across the border in Shenzhen in association with BODW.
Swire Travel assisted overseas delegates with travel and accommodation bookings.
