SYDNEY The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre (SCEC) has begun a complete renovation of its Parkside Convention Centre to create a more flexible event space.

The overhaul will allow the current Parkside 110 area to be opened up, increasing from 250 sqm to 500 sqm.

Energy-efficient sensor-operated escalators and a new arrival reception area on Parkside’s ground level are also being added.

SCEC chief executive, Ton van Amerongen, said: “These changes mean we can accommodate smaller, more intimate meetings as well as the many major international congresses we regularly host.”
