HONG KONG Global event management agency, WorldEvents, will open its first Asia office in Hong Kong in early 2010.  Chairman Graham Keene said the opening was prompted by client demand for seamless global events.

“We are pleased to continue our global development by establishing a presence in Asia,” he said. “The Asian market will become increasingly important in the years ahead and it is vital we are able to take advantage of the growing opportunity.”

The Hong Kong office will serve as the agency’s Asia hub and oversee events throughout the region. Rebecca Lim has been appointed general manager, Asia, and will lead the agency’s regional expansion.

“I am delighted to be joining WorldEvents,” said Lim. “I am very excited by their vision and strategy and the potential we have in the Asian market.”

Lim has worked as an event professional in Singapore, Hong Kong Beijing and Shanghai, most recently as Jack Morton’s general manager, China and Saatchi & Saatchi’s head of events.

WorldEvents major clients include BP, Philips, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oréal and Chanel.
