What is it?
Le Meridien Shimei Bay Beach Resort and Spa opened a year ago on the Southeast coast of Hainan Island. The resort is 90 minutes by road from Sanya Airport and nearly two hours from Haikou  Located on the 6km white sandy beach of Shimei Bay, Le Meridien is the first of six high-end hotels forming part of an integrated resort.


What is on offer?
The hotel offers 275 guestrooms, including 25 villas, ranging in size from 63 sqm to more than 1,000 sqm. All rooms are equipped with Bose sound systems and flatscreen televisions, and a selection of rooms also have private outdoor swimming pools.

MICE facilities at the resort include the 552 sqm pillarless grand ballroom, which can seat up to 500 guests theatre style, or up to 350 for a gala dinner. There are also five function rooms, all located on the same floor. Groups can enjoy perks like dedicated convention staff, videoconferencing services, audiovisual equipment and technicians, and complete production services.

What outdoor options are there?
The resort has a beach amphitheatre, good for product launches and intimate group dinners. It can seat 30 people for a round- table dinner, or host up to 500 people on the surrounding beach. Events can also be catered for in the spa tea lounge or on the presidential villa lawn. There are six restaurants and bars and there are four 18-hole golf courses located within a 15-minute drive.
