The Macau Government Tourist Office recently updated its US$8.4 million stimulus package:

Meetings and conventions… Groups of 100 people or more staying for two consecutive nights are eligible for financial subsidies on their hotel accommodation of 10 per cent of the total cost for a maximum of five nights, while F&B support has been increased to US$52 per person. Two nights’ accommodation will also be provided for keynote speakers and heads of delegations.

Incentives… Groups with a minimum of 50 incentive winners staying for two consecutive nights can receive US$40 per person towards activities in Macau.

Exhibitions… Exhibitions of at least 1,000 sqm are eligible for funding for up to 25 per cent of rental costs. Minimum duration has been reduced to two days. Additionally, every nine sqm of exhibition space will qualify one buyer for three nights’ accommodation and 50 per cent off transportation costs up to US$390. MGTO will also provide up to US$12,900 towards an opening ceremony.

General support… Bid support is available prior to any qualifying event as well as a complimentary three-day, twonight site visit, including round-trip airfares, hotel accommodation and local transportation for up to four people. Confirmed MICE events are eligible for promotion on the MGTO website. Delegates get free admission to the Wine and Grand Prix Museums, and Macau information kits.
