Event Wireless World Research Forum Meeting 23 (WWRF)
Organiser China Mobile Research Institute
Venue Doubletree by Hilton, Beijing
Delegates 100
Date October 20-22

The brief
The 23rd Wireless World Research Forum Meeting, hosted by China Mobile, is a three-day meeting held twice each year. The event brings together industry leaders and visionaries from around the world in an active discussion on new concepts and technologies. This time the theme was “Cognition and cooperation in mobile internet”.

Challenges
Delegates needed high-speed internet access for online in-class training during the meetings, which was a challenge for the hotel’s internet system. To resolve the problem, a private internet circuit was sourced from an internet-support company and a signal projector was displayed in each meeting room. Delegates were happy with the result and enjoyed stable and high-speed internet access.

Also, China Mobile had not reserved rooms for their meetings, and all guests reserved their hotel rooms separately. The conference organiser was concerned that there was a chance rooms could not be arranged in time, so they arranged for all delegates to book online.

Execution
Meetings were held in the ballroom, VIP room and four meeting rooms, and changing rooms were also made available for delegates. Working group sessions on radio, networking and service perspectives were combined with a series of plenary sessions.

Before the official three-day forum, WWRF held a small pre-meeting, which included meetings each morning followed by five breakout sessions in the afternoon. Doubletree by Hilton Beijing provided different styles of coffee breaks including traditional Chinese and Easter desserts, as well as relaxing activities lsuch as Nintendo Wii games.
