HONG KONG UFI, the global association of the exhibition industry, has named Paul Woodward as its new managing director from July 2010.
Woodward, who is based in Hong Kong, is currently UFI’s Asia/Pacific regional director and also co-principal of Business Strategies Group Asia. He replaces Vincent Gérard, UFI’s managing director since 2001.
Woodward said: “After 25 years in Asia, I hope I will bring a strong awareness of what is happening in this part of the world and the exciting opportunities in the region.
“Asia has certainly grown increasingly important to UFI in the five years since the regional office was opened in Hong Kong and now comprises about one-third of the membership. One of the most interesting challenges will be taking up what is truly a global role.”
