The China Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition (CIBTM) is China’s leading international event for business event planners.

This year, CIBTM will be held in Beijing from September 8-10 at the China National Convention Centre (CNCC) – a newly converted 2008 Olympic Games venue.

Graeme Barnett, exhibition director, said: “One of our key objectives for CIBTM is to create growth for the event from the Asian region, and this year with so many new exhibitors and others increasing their stand space, CIBTM is heading towards this ultimate goal.”

Hosted buyers receive a pre-arranged one-to-one appointment diary with exhibitors, complimentary access to the Professional Education Programme, access to the Hosted Buyer Lounge during the event and invitations to additional evening receptions and networking events.

Exhibitors
Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the Ministry of Culture & Tourism Republic of Indonesia, Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), Philippines Department of Tourism and Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) are all new exhibitors for 2009.

Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO), Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Korea Tourist Organisation (KTO) and The Beijing Tourism Administration (BTA) have all increased their stand space this year.

Professional Education Programme
The International Conference and Convention Association (ICCA), Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and MCI Shanghai are among those running sessions open to all CIBTM attendees.

Erica Keogan, CIBTM’s education content manager, said: “Part of the meeting and incentives portfolio strategy is to provide best professional education sessions specifically for the meetings industry. We have designed the education programme at CIBTM this year to look at providing practical support and information for the meetings industry in China.”

There are thirteen sessions covering topics such as Your Career Path in the Meetings Industry, Technology that Grows Your Event, 2010 World Expo Shanghai – Suitable for MICE and How to Successfully Organise MICE Events for Chinese Clients Overseas.

All seminar sessions will be available in English and Chinese with simultaneous translation provided.

Hosted buyers are invited to a pre-show cocktail party on September 7 hosted by JW Marriott Hotel Beijing at a surprise outdoor venue.

All CIBTM attendees are invited to the opening reception hosted by event organiser, China Star, on September 8; and the CIBTM gala evening hosted by the Beijing Tourism Administration (BTA) on September 9.
