HONG KONG A new free guide will help businesses in Hong Kong reduce their carbon footprint and work in a more environmentally sustainable manner. The guide is jointly published by the Climate Change Business Forum (CCBF) and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC).

Available in both English and Chinese, the guide is the first of its kind to detail how companies can reduce emissions as well as the business opportunities and bottom line savings they will make by doing so. This information – together with the guide’s comprehensive look at the Hong Kong government’s guidelines and standards – forms a definitive single point of reference on emissions reduction in Hong Kong.

Edward Yau, Hong Kong’s secretary for the environment, said: “A successful outcome on climate change requires governments, the business community and the general public to work together on reducing emissions. I strongly support the initiative and ask every business to take up the challenges arising from our transition into a low-carbon economy.”

The guide is clearly written and is free to download. It focuses on the pathway to effective emissions reduction and how to organise the process of reducing emissions.
