DAY ONE Instead of a standard city tour, the half-day City Challenge introduces participants to Singapore’s three main cultures – Chinese, Malay and Indian. Besides walking through the ethnic quarters, an interactive exchange engages participants in local life: from buying Tiger Balm in Chinatown, to learning how to wear a sarong at an Arab Street shop and henna painting in Little India.

Participants can also have their fortunes told by a parrot, Indian style, and learn the art of batik painting. At lunch, they can try making prata (Indian bread), including twirling the dough.

DAY TWO Returning to the kampung (village) charm of 1960s Pulau Ubin, a rustic island northeast of Singapore, activities include biking through secluded and winding lanes (few motorised vehicles are permitted on this island), or taking a nature walk past mangrove wetlands and spice and fruit gardens. Participants are encouraged to try their hand at cooking in a 200-year-old kampung house to appreciate local condiments and flavours of a different culinary style.

DAY THREE Teambuilding activities on Sentosa Island include adventures on the sand and sea. Participants enjoy a twist on sandcastles at Siloso Beach: build an imaginary city; airport with kites as aircraft or harbour using rafts for boats. The final night is an Equatorial Evening – a themed dinner under the stars on Palawan Beach.
