ICES 2009 attracts event professionals
International Convention and Expo Summit in Hong Kong

The International Convention and Expo Summit 2009 (ICES 2009) will be held at the InterContinental Grand Stanford from May 18 to 20. The conference is targeted at professionals and academics working in the business events industry in Asia.
It provides a forum for delegates to exchange information and to learn more about how with the MICE sector can succeed in the current economic situation.
Professor Kaye Chon, director of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), said: “The event has been strongly encouraged by the local industry.
“The supporting partners are Hong Kong Tourism Board, Hong Kong Disneyland, AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited and SkyCity Marriott.”
CEI Asia is the media partner for ICES 2009.
Panel sessions include Connecting Asia Today, Enriching Learning and Exchanges in MICE Education, Hong Kong New MICE Product Showcase and Projecting the Future.
ICES 2009 is jointly organised by the SHTM and the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration of University of Nevada, Las Vegas (Singapore Campus).
“The international summit has been planned by students from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for the School,” said Chon.
Regal Kowloon Hotel and Langham Hotel Hong Kong are the sponsor hotels of the Summit.
The Convention and Expo Summit (CES) was established in 1990. It has been held on an annual basis in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Asian-based ICES began in 2003 due to the growing significance of the business events industry in Asia.
