SEOUL Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Meeting Professionals International (MPI) to promote joint marketing in the Asia Pacific region.
The MOU confirms STO as one of MPI’s official partners in Asia. The MPI assistance measures will include the introduction of Seoul and the STO, along with their logos, on its website (
www.mpiweb.org) as well as through its major PR materials.
“These support measures from MPI will help STO launch its PR and promotional activities efficiently and strategically,” said an STO spokesman. Seoul city and the STO established the MPI’s first Asian chapter in Korea in November last year.
The move was aimed at upgrading Korea’s convention services to international levels, providing assistance related to the acquisition of CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) certificates and nurturing global-minded professionals. “It was also intended to prepare long-term training systems through the introduction of MPI’s well-respected education programmes and seminars,” said the spokesman.
The signing ceremony was held the STO’s main office in Seoul in the presence of Samuel Koo, STO president and chief executive officer, and Michael Tay, director of MPI Asia Pacific.
